The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) has inaugurated a five-man committee to wade brewing in the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), with a charge to approach the task with diligence, fairness, and in the spirit of unity.

The committee, chaired by Alhaji Mohammed Sheriff, was officially inaugurated on Monday, 7th October 2025, by the President of FTAN, Dr Aliyu Badaki, at the National Secretariat of Federation in Abuja.

In his opening remarks, Badaki expressed appreciation to the committee members for accepting to serve, describing the assignment as a critical step towards strengthening both the Federation and the tourism industry at large.

Badaki noted that the members were carefully selected by the National Executive Council and ratified by the Governing Council, based on their wealth of experience and integrity, as veterans in the tourism sector.

He assured that the committee would discharge its mandate conscientiously and without bias, noting that; “the tourism industry belongs to all of us, and it is our shared responsibility to protect and strengthen it.”

Sheriff further appealed to all parties involved in the dispute to set aside their differences and cooperate fully with the committee to enable it to deliver on its assignment smoothly and effectively.

Other members of the committee also pledged their full support to the Chairman and affirmed their commitment to conducting a thorough and transparent reconciliation process.
